Hip and groin pain
Hip pain is not always arthritis. It can be from dance and at the front of the hip, from kicking or running or even from simply sleeping on your side and it wakes you.
Our physios are trained in how to assess hip and groin problems in a systematic way. This is from defining where your pain or dysfunction is, listening to your description of symptoms and then assessing the structures around the hip, pelvis and groin. Treatment or further tests can be applied and a plan of action put in place.
Treatment is often massage and soft tissue unloading followed by correct load management and strengthening exercise. Once you start to feel stronger with less pain load and activity is increased. This is especially important for pain on the side of your hip as it is usually an overload and weakness that causes the issue.
