Shoulder Pain and stiffness including rotator cuff and post-surgical rehabilitation
Shoulder pain and dysfunction is exceptionally common. It can be from the rotator cuff not holding the “ball on the socket” when you move, a torn tendon or a stiff or painful joint. We see many people after shoulder surgery, following surgeon’s protocols to get them back to full function.
Accurately finding the cause from a careful assessment is very important. Did you know that your shoulder actually is between your arm and your shoulderblade? You shoulderblade only attaches to the rest of the skeleton at your collarbone joint on your sternum and by muscles around your neck and mid-back. Finding where the problem comes from means you can apply better treatment and stop aggravating movements. Keeping the ball nicely on its socket takes many muscles in co-ordination, so doing the right exercise is very important when performing rehabilitation.
